3. Scope and purpose of data processing; legal basis

(a) Visiting to the Website

If you visit our Website, information about you is automatically transmitted, collected and stored in a log file; these information include:

  • Previously visited website via which you came to our Website (Referrer URL)
  • (Currently) visited webpage
  • Date and time you accessed our Website
  • Your Internet Protocol (IP) address which we subsequently anonymize

We do not assign this data to specific users, but store it separately from other personal data.

  • Your entire application documents - the content of the application documents depends on the documents you provide, but often includes CV, cover letter and references.

  • Alternative telephone number
  • Comment on the application
  • Channel through which you found out about us

If you apply to us via email, a headhunter or a job portal, the type of personal data that we process about you depends on the content of your email or on the personal data the headhunter or the job portal transfers to us about you. In general, the personal data corresponds to the personal data collected via the contact form on our Website (see above).

If you are invited to a job interview by us, we will process further personal data about you, such as email correspondence to coordinate and plan the job interview or feedback from the interviewers on the job interview conducted with you.

We process your personal data for the purpose of assessing your suitability for the position for which you have applied, coordinating and scheduling interviews and providing feedback on the recruitment decision.

In this case, we process your personal data to take steps prior to entering into a contract with you (i.e. to initiate a contractual relationship).

(c) Talent pool

In the event that we find your application interesting, but are unable to offer you a suitable position at the time of your application, we would like to add you to our talent pool so that we can contact you if a suitable vacancy arises at a later date.

We process the following personal data about you for inclusion in our talent pool:

(d) Assertion of and defense against legal claims

If necessary, we process your application data (see section 3 (b)) to assert and defend against legal claims on the basis of our legitimate interest. Our legitimate interest lies, for example, in being able to present evidence in proceedings under the German General Law on Equal Treatment.

4. Source of your personal data

We process personal data that we obtained from you when contacting us. We may also obtain your personal data via third parties, such as headhunters or job portals (LinkedIn, Stepstone, Xing).

5. Necessity of the provision of your personal data

The provision of your personal data as part of the application process is voluntary. However, we can only make a decision on the establishment of an employment relationship or establish an employment relationship with you if you provide us with the personal data we need for this purpose.

6. To whom do we disclose your personal data?

We treat all personal data confidentially. We have engaged external service providers who process the data on our behalf to make our Website and online application process available to and to enable communication with you.

In addition, we are a matrix organization in which various Samsung group companies (located in and outside the European Economic Area ("EEA"), including our global headquarter in Korea) make recruitment decisions. We store your personal data for as long as necessary to make decision on your application.

If your application is successful, your personal data will be transferred to your personnel file.

If your application is unsuccessful, we will delete your application documents no later than six months after the end of the application process (e.g., notification of the rejection decision), unless longer storage is legally required or permitted. This is the case, for example, if the further processing of your personal data is necessary for the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims; your personal data will then be processed for the duration of the legal dispute.

If you have given your consent to be included in our talent pool, we will process your personal data for two years.
