R&D Scientist / Engineer Next Generation Batteries (m/f/d)

Samsung SDI R&D Europe (SDIRE) is a newly established Munich branch of Samsung SDI R&D. We are looking for great minds, keen to shape cutting-edge development of next generation battery technology. You will be part of a newly established interdisciplinary research team bridging academic research and large scale manufacturing. You will interact with local academic institution and R&D facilities, the Samsung global R&D headquarter and series manufacturing.

R&D Scientist / Engineer Next Generation Battery (m/f/d)
Your Tasks and Responsibilities
In this position, you will be responsible for research project management at SDIRE and partners with a focus on:
- developing innovative concepts and technologies for Li-ion batteries, including all solid state, Li-sulfur, Li-air, non-Li technologies
- screening research activities, identifying tech-trends in academia, institutes, and major companies and assess and select suitable research topics
- identifying creative solutions to generate intellectual property
- testing and validation of battery cell performance
Your Profile
- Ph.D. in the field of chemical engineering, electrochemistry, physical chemistry, materials science or comparable
- Experience in the field of current and next-generation batteries (e.g. Li-metal battery, all-solid-state, Li-Sulfur, Li-Air, advanced Li-ion battery)
- Interdisciplinary work experience
- Business fluent in English, German skills are a plus
- Problem solving skills and proactive nature
